Abiarroz (Brazilian Rice Industry Association) was created on March 06, 2009, with the goal of promoting and institutionally organizing the industrial rice farming sector, most notably with regards to issues linked to the processing of rice and its derivatives, in all scopes: technical, commercial, promotional, structural, organization, cultural, environmental, legal and institutional.
There are around 50 industries, representing some 75% of the rice processed in the country, that are Abiarroz associates. Acting in unison with other segment entities, it is the institution responsible for discussing and submitting industry demands to governmental authorities and international institutions.
The Association’s leading source of funding is made up of contributions from Brazilian rice farming industries, which are all members.
Besides representing the industries, it implements projects like Brazilian Rice, in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
